I am a native Idahoan. My grandfather came from Italy to Idaho in 1912. He settled in Wallace, became a U.S. citizen, served our country in World War I, and started his own small business. The grocery store he started in 1925 grew and sustained our family for 92 years. I graduated from Wallace High School and went on to graduate from the University of Washington. Iris and I have been married for 55 years. Our son Todd is a graduate of the University of Oregon, and daughters Tina and Traci both graduated from the University of Idaho. We have eight grandchildren - 7 boys and one granddaughter with a new great grandson.
I have demonstrated for many years my commitment to work to improve my community, our schools, my city, my county, and our state. I pledge to you that I will represent my constituents and my district when I vote in the Senate, not just blindly following political talking points. I will work very hard in representing all counties in our district. I ask for your support and your vote for Jon Cantamessa for the office of Idaho State Senator from District 2.
My community life in Wallace over the years is typical for a small businessman. Chamber of Commerce member, past president, past board member. Member of the local Economic Development Board for 20+ years. Fifty-Six year member of the Wallace Elks. Wallace School board, 3 years as a chairman. Chairman for 7 years of the Idaho Association of Counties Public Lands Committee. Chairman for 10 years of the Resource Advisory Committee for Idaho's five northern counties. Shoshone County Commissioner for 12 years.
